The Windmill can be found at the lower end of the village of Hollingbourne close to the post office and village hall. This 16th-century, former coaching inn has the genuine feel of an old country pub housed within a beautiful old building of a traditional style, adorned with colourful hanging baskets. It is a substantial size for such a small village and enjoys such a fine reputation that the regular clientele are attracted from all over north Kent. Inside, the rural feel is continued with stone and brick flooring, wooden beamed ceilings and open fires. The bar areas are also well divided into cosy nooks and crannies, so you can be sure of enjoying a quiet drink, undisturbed by your neighbours. There is a children's play area, for keeping the younger visitors occupied, and outside you will also find a large beer garden and patio area, ideal for al fresco dining when the weather allows. The Windmill serves a full and varied menu offering a superlative choice of dishes, ranging from fresh fish to huge steaks. Everything is of the highest quality, using the finest ingredients and freshly prepared to order. Food is served each weekday lunchtime and evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
The entire pub is a non-smoking establishment. The Windmill gets busy in the evenings and at weekends, so you'd be wise to book in advance. The bar is equally well stocked with an excellent selection of real cask ales kept on tap.
